Now i just need to see how much it'll cost and when i can get it!
I thought that SYNC was part of the factory head unit and that removing that would remove SYNC capability. I dont see how this aftermarket faceplate could account for that.

In the case of the Metra they have modules that allo you to keep funtionality, like controls on your wheel and SYNC if you want. In my case I am going to get the Kenwood 9140 that has some advanced features that will replace SYNC for me. I also love the fact it has Garmin maps that can be updated too.

I'm interested in getting an aftermarket unit as well. I had the Kenwood unit in my Jeep that had the Garmin interface. Garmin is by far the best Nav out there. With that unit I had GPS, Full Ipod control on the touchscreen, backup camera, bluetooth, SIRIUS, could watch movies, etc.... But, I still don't want to give up the Sync functionality.... Sync has many features that you can't get in any aftermarket stereo. To be able to use BOTH would be awesome.

Anybody know when the Scosche one is coming out. I do know that with the Metra kit you can also buy an add-on that will allow you to keep Sync.

I emailed Scocshe today:

-The unit will be out late spring/early summer
-no price yet
-sync is not maintained with the kit alone, additional modules would be required but do exist

I think it looks infinitely better than the Metra kit and will be a definite buyer as long as I can maintain my sync also. Goin with the Eclipse AVN726e...good price, great sound/picture, and the nav with 3D cities is pretty sweet

Can anyone tell if theres still a screen (or is it an empty storage space) in the black rectangle cut out in the unit where the factory lcd screen used to be?
