Default Staggering, the way to go?

Been looking into tires and wheels and think I fell into the world of staggering. I love the aggressive look. I picked up some info.. but here are some more questions..

The FR500 wheels from AM have finally caught my eye. The 18x10 black deep dish wheels for the rear and the black 18x9 for the front.

This is for a DD, and I don't plan on modifying my suspension or adding anymore performance mods. Anyone know the weight of these wheels? I don't go to the track or will be for fun anyways, but I don't want to add too much dead weight, unless it won't really affect the performance I have now. My rear wheels tend to slip a bit right now, possibly due to the stock tires, but my new tune can be a bit finicky (which I don't mind) but I think I will need that grip for my driving style.

I've been looking for AS tires, since this is the only car I have. This was recommended in another thread for another MD driver, Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole position. Are there any other High Performance AS tires for the mustang? What would be the best sizes for the staggering effect on these wheels? AM per website recommends 255/45-18 up front and 275/40-18 in the back. Also how would I adjust my speedo with the tuner for 2 sets of tire sizes?

not sure how much they way but check out my sig pic, the exact rim setup you want. They are kinda heavy but ride fine. When i go to the track i bring my stockers with DRs to launch on.

Looks great on your car. Did you use the recommended tire sizes or a different size setup?

I have 18x9 F & 18x10 R
Running Nitto 555's 255/45/18F & 285/40/18R
In my tuner I have the option for custom settings & you can adjust the revs/mile. The tire manufacture should have a list of sizes/revs per mile you can plug in. You only need to adjust for the rear tire size.

I went from stock 17s to staggered 18s from AM and didn't really notice a differance in performance. I wouldn't worry about weight too much if your getting 18s. My Nittos do great in the occasional heavy rain down here in Florida.

I'm running 20 x 10s and 20 x 8.5's on a stock vert suspension. Yes, you can tell right after the switch the the ride quality, feel a bit sluggish, added weight. You're only looking to move up to 18's? If you like the look and they're in your budget? Go for it. The inch over the stock mustang rims can be made up for with the tire aspects. A little so also with the staggering.

I want to do 285/40/18R but I can't find any AS tires with that spec, they are all 285/35/18

If I do 275/40/18R, for the front, should I still stick with 255/45/18 or 255/40/18?

haha....there is always a catch somewhere. yeah the 285/40 seems to be a no go for the all season. Its mostly a high performance summer. You can easily adjust the speedo for the 275/40 though.

best solution...keep the stock wheels and mount some winter tires on them and get some kick *** summer tires

255/45 and 285/40 or bigger for the rear on the new staggered set up

I think when I weighed the rears(18x10 FR500) they were roughly 55 a piece not much over the stockers
