Try offering $79 and see what he says. The shipping is $20 on top of it.

The good thing on these two options is that both are coming with the sync bracket. It attaches right above the glove box, no screws.
Good luck!

I'm going to order one of those sync kits. I just ordered a 2013 premium steering wheel from rousch for 125 and shipping is free. So you removed the sync HMI and tapped into the hearness to use the buttons on the steering wheel? Is there a schematic for the wires going into the sync module? All this info is great! Thanks.

Page 13 of this wiring diagram shows the connection to the steering wheel buttons:

The steering wheel wiring goes to this connector (clockspring 151-15) on the left bottom side of the steering wheel. The wiring harness going from this connector back to the audio system doesn't have the wiring on pins 4 and 6 (SYNC 3 buttons). I had to buy the female terminals, crimp 2 wires and run them all the way back to the SYNC wiring harness where the HMI would be plugged into.
The HMI has four wires, two for powering up the back light on the buttons and 2 for the SYNC buttons. See this picture:

The connector that has the SYNC pins that need to be added is located here:

You need to add two female terminals at position 4 and 6 and wire them back to the SYNC wiring harness where you have the HMI wiring (you will need to cut the HMI plug and splice the two wires coming from the steering wheel - it just reads resistance so no polarity).

I have spare female terminals that I can mail to you. Send me a PM.
You will need this tool to crimp the wires to the terminals (22 AWG wire - stranded):

Thanks !!
thanks HDVALENTE, I will be trying this in the next few weeks, i ordered a 2009 sync kit, a gt500 steering wheel, hopefully i could hook everything up. ( i was lucky enough to find a crashed 2012 so I'm going to try to get the Sync module from that one. I might even just buy the whole shaker system out of that one too.....)

Nothing 1,114 k ohms.
Voice button pressed: 51.5 ohms
Phone button pressed: 508 ohms
OK button pressed: 334 ohms

On using the F150 module, you want to find and check an F150 wiring diagram to be sure the microphone and steering wheel control pin assignments on the sync module connector are the same as the Mustang.

Thanks, hdvalente, for all the great posts on doing this. I recently finished doing a similar upgrade on my 2010 GT (base) 'vert using your posts--thought I'd add my 2 cents.
I upgraded with the following parts:
-GT500 Alcantra steering wheel with audio controls (Levittown Ford)
-2009 Sync upgrade kit (ebay, only used the wiring harness)
-used autodimming mirror with microphone (ebay)
-used Shaker 500 head unit to allow full audio controls without reprogramming (ebay)
-used 2010 Sync module to avoid reprogramming (ebay)
-new mirror/mike wiring harness CR3Z-17K745-BA
-male and female pins for steering wheel harness as reported by hdvalente
There were no issues with the used sync module and head unit--they just worked, including voice commands and all steering wheel buttons! And for 2010, at least, they were readily available and cheap on ebay.
The main difference I found with my 2010 versus hdvalente's 2011 was that there were no connectors at all in the main harness for the 17K745 harness. So I had to make a new piece wiring harness to get the mike, mirror power and ground, and reverse signal off of the A-pillar and into the rest of the vehicle wiring. Power and ground for the mirror were spliced into the SJB, and reverse signal was brought up from the backup lights (same as hdvalente). Microphone leads were spliced into the mike leads in the sync kit harness, and the steering extra steering wheel control button wires were spliced into the sync kit harness (same as hdvalente).
I haven't been successful in getting the new setup registered in syncmyride.com, so haven't been able to do any software upgrades. No big deal, I think. If I see a 2012 sync module with applink pop up on ebay, I may go for it.
