Question Delete Plates

Please don't bash me for asking but I have no idea what delete plates are. I see them in some folks mods. I used the search function and couldn't find anything. So what are they???

You have to search Motion Delete Plates....me personally recommend them if you have a supercharger.

Charge motion plates are like a secondary throttle body with butterfly valves that open up wider under higher rpms and remain more closed under lower rpms. I believe they are supposed to create more torque in the low rpm range. If you drive your Mustang hard, you'll probably notice a big lunge when the rpms reach 3000. That's because the valves open up wide.

Delete plates are a replacement of this part but with no butterfly valves. It's just wide open all the time.

They are like the above poster said. They increase turbulence during low power usage increasing torque and economy. At high power they reduce the flow by being in the way even though they are fully open. Removing them will gain some top end power but will cost several MPG for all your other driving. Depending on your state emissions laws, having them removed could cause you to fail your inspection. Be happy if you live in a state which doesn't care about such things.

The delete plates from what I've read help keep combustion cleaner and get the fuel burnt more fully at idle and low rpms. They open up as you climb up in the revs.
