windshield streaks
ok I know this is a silly question but I have to ask because I cant find a cure. what do you guys clean your inside windows with??? I have tried 3 types of name brand cleaners and windshield washer and all leave a haze or streaks that you mostly see at night when the head lights behind hit the glass is their something on the glass from the factory?..
i dont think thats to silly of a question, i had the same problem. it looked like someone was smoking alot inside the car. i took it back to the dealership and they said its from some manufacturing process. i tried three times to get it off. so they cleaned the whole car for me for free.
I found some Stoner's Glass Cleaner at Wal-Mart. It used to only be available to specialty stores so I 'm not sure its at all WalMarts. It and a lint free window cleaning cloth, (also at your favorite Wally World), does a super job at removing all kinds of residue.
I have this same problem. But I don't think it is the glass, I think it is the cleaner. I'm convinced that Car Windshield cleaners are a hoax. As soon as this bottle runs out, I'm going back to good ol'e household Windex. With the Car stuff that I use, I have to apply with a CLEAN paper/shop towel, re-apply with another clean paper/shop towel, and then "buff" the window clean of the haze with a clean terry cloth.
If you're carrying warm, greasy food in your car, like super-size fries or fried chicken, a lot of that "smell' (grease) condenses on the cool windows. it just seems to appear out of thin air and is not fun to get off....
I've heard the "manufacturing process" reason before. It's a byproduct, just like that new car smell, except it gets stuck on the inside of your glass.
I think the argument against using household cleaners is the ammonia content in some of them, which you don't want coming in contact with the paint, vinyl or leather. The specialized car window cleaners are supposed to clean as good as ammonia, without ammonia.
