Sell me on the one piece driveshaft please!

Yeah, I just read up on that. It didn't come with any instructions, and every install guide/video I've seen makes no mention of having to extend it. I had to dig and dig to find one set of posts in this forum about someone saying theirs was also too short and had to be extended.
You'd think it's the sort of thing people would mention. "Oh by the way, when you go to install this it will appear to be an inch to two inches too short and make you think you were sent the wrong thing"
Everyone just goes on and on about how easily it fits right in.

i install the 3.5" direct fit d/s today. when you get the 4 bolts started in the front move to the back and start them they will snug up to the back. got the car up to 120mph no problems....good luck. i was surprised but the car did seem to rev alittle faster. we will see just how much at the track

so I received my shaftmasters drive shaft this week and went to install it today. After fighting with the rear bolts for a few hours, I finally had to take a propane torch to the rear of the bolts to loosen the loctite. After that they came right out.
So I get my stock drive shaft out and I notice the aluminum one seems a good bit shorter. Now supposedly I received the "direct bolt in" version from shaftmasters. Sure enough, I throw it under the car, and get a bolt in and it's a good inch or so short. What gives? Am I doing something wrong, missing a part, or did I get sent an incorrectly made shaft?

Yep, got the install finished up today. Had to extend the driveshaft. At first it didnt budge, then all of a sudden it let go and opened right up.
something I found that made life much easier was to heat up the back of the rear bolts to break down the loctite that comes on them. Otherwise they weren't going to go in far enough to seat.
After a little driving around town today it revs a little quicker which is nice. Nothing I'd classify as a huge difference but as said before, the true test will be at the track this spring.
