Default THERMOMETER

Has anyone found a aftermarket thermometer to measure outside temperature that looks good mounted inside ther car. Spoiled by having them in all my other rides even my motorcycle has one. Before anyone asks yes I know how to open my windows

I recall reading somewhere on here that our cars have thermometers.. it's just not hooked up to anything in the cabin.. anyone else know about that?

I used the rear view mirror of a 98 Suburban/Tahoe...
20 dollah from a junk yard with the temp sensor and of course the electrical connector.
It also has a built in compass.

You can buy aftermarket ones with everything you need and mounting instructions but it's kinda pricey.
About $150 and up.
Here's a pictarr of my rig...

Yep,
I found mine and can read it with an MSD DashHawk.
Its called AAT or AmbientAirTemp and I use it all the time
to compare AATs to IATs. Its accessed thru the OBDII port.

Pascal, where is the outside temp probe mounted?

hehe, that's pretty cool. I tried to look for a mustang with the comfort package, a mirror that takes care of itself, compass, and best of all, heated seats to keep my toosh warm. Too bad I couldn't find one

I mounted it right behind my grille emblem.
Pretty much where it's at on a Tahoe (or my F150), behind the lower part of the grille.

I'll pass on the heated seats but would trade for the foot massager.

That's funny Pascal, I bought one from a junk yard too a while back but never got around to installing it. I drove around with it in my trunk for the longest...one day it will get installed.
If I remember right I got mine out of a cadillac sedan deville.

Did you get the temp sensor? Because a new one is about $50, yikes!
All those mirrors are made by Gentex and also are found in Fords so they're plentiful in bone yards.
