I have a 2010 cloth top, and no issues on the highway without a boot cover, no flapping whatsoever. My vert is also my dd, and I can't wait for the weather to get better to have the top down again, there's really nothing like it!
I've had to clean snow off of it all winter but I must admit I got a car starter to "loosen" up the ice buildup before brushing it off.
The top in the 10' doesn't take long at all to put up or down and it's really a non issue.
Go for it, you'll love it.

For me, a 'vert was an absolute. Gotta have 'vert for driving in SoCal. The nice thing is, you don't HAVE to put it down all the time. Top up, it's comfortable and quiet. Top down, you've got the sun on your face & wind in your hair. Wind buffeting is minimal... they really did a nice job on the aerodynamics. I've had NO issues with leaks or wind noise. And if it gets too hot, just put the top up & kick on the A/C. Yes, there is an increased likelihood of vandalism, but overall... I'll take a 'vert any day.

I doubt the weight difference is noticeable, but I didn't buy mine to race.

Doesn't seem to be much of a gray area on this topic... you either love 'em or hate 'em.

I've never been able to understand how you vert owners can park your cars with the top down and walk away. With the amount of crime and car thefts here in SoCal I just don't get it. Yes, you can prevent the car itself from being stolen, but what about your valuables, your stereos, subs (in sub boxes), stuff in your trunk (easy to access by pressing the button). People break into cars for simple things they see on a seat, if it's wide open I would think it would be an easy target.

Go for the Vert... For me, there is nothing better than 540 horses under the hood, 4 seats, top down and wind in your hair... You simply cannot get this combination in any other vehicle. Top is so solid, beautiful cloth material, goes up and down in less than 15 seconds... This might just wet your whistle...

Yeah, the 2010+ Mustangs all have a locking compartment in the center console for mp3 players and such, which mine doesn't.

Sometimes I wonder if they hold off on all these cool features just to get you to trade-in your Ford in a few years!

My only question is- will Shelby make another Shelby GT vert? The new GT350 is just way too expensive (and fast!).
