Default Factory Sub Replacement

Has anyone replaced the subs in the factory Shaker 1000 box? If so how does it sound? I like the look and fit of the factory box. I was thinking of just replacing the 2 subs and amps.

I dont understand why anyone would pay that price for the Kicker setup. Thats like some one pay $200 for the ambient light kit. I got mine for $50 and it works on a wireless remote.

I went to partexpress.com and bought the parts to build my own (just wrapped it in fabric to match my trunk). They have great tech help there and its amazingly cheap. It took less than 2 hours and sounds way better. I did buy an Alpine Amp to drive it though.

I honestly don't recommend placing aftermarket subs in the stock box. IMHO it will probably sound terrible. You might have luck if you can find the cu ft of the stock box and match it to a sub that fits those paramaters. Keep in mind all subs are designed for specific enclosures. Being that the stock box is small and sealed, you'll have to stick with a sub that doesn't require that much power and is meant for small sealed enclosures.
