Our cars don't have a throwout bearing.

timmbo, the noise only happens when my foot is off the clutch and shut i the car off. if i shut the car off with the clutch pushed in, no noise. or if i rev it up with my foot off clutch and turn it off, no noise.

Yeah I should have said slave cylinder which has the bearing mated to it.
