Long tubes losing their rumble?

Long tubes losing their rumble?
Back in early October I got long tubes put on the car and they had an old school gurgle/rumble (that metallic, deep, ogre's pipes boiling-best way I can describe it) sound. But I'm not sure if they "break in" or because it's colder outside, but I don't notice it as much if at all anymore.

I ran into the same deal with my old z28. Took a video after about 5 months of having my full exhaust done up and didn't think is sounded as aggressive. Compared to one taken about a month after the install, identical. Like going faster. "Yup, this is fast enough. I won't want any more after this mod". You always end up wanting more. lol

+1. Not much really can change within the headers themselves as they're just hollow tubing. Look at more complicated parts such as the cats and mufflers themselves.

Well, mufflers anyway. I've been wanting to get rid of the Flows and do something else, but it's so hard to find one that I like, and isn't $500-600... Also, crappy little internet video clips are a terrible way to judge the sound, and there's no place to just go and listen to Mustangs in person and try out the mufflers to see what I like. Plus, would it even sound the same, because I have the different setup...

I kick myself from time to time for ever selling the MAC's I once had. Those puppies sounded great. Not sure I would trade my current pypes mid-muffler but they did sound great and were beautiful polished 304ss.
