05-09 vs 10-present

Well, since this is still open..
I prefer the harder look of the 05-09 and has more of a retro look. The edges of the 2010 have been soften up a bit, even though they tried to make the front more aggressive, the rear just doesn't do it for me either. There are some colors, such as black, that make it look more tolerable that I wouldn't mind it so much. IMO, we're all part of the mustang family, so who cares. Different styles for different strokes. For all we know, 2014 could be something completely different and we will ALL be in shock.

I have had a few people at work tease me about the new 5.0 32-Valve 4-Cam coming in the new 2011 Mustang. And yea, I want that engine! That IS an upgrade for sure!

Careful, the 2010 crowd is a sensitive bunch.
It's funny, most 05-09 owners can recognize the improvements in the front, side profile and interior. But all 2010 owners can't admit that the 2010 rear is less-than-desirable (they even go to lengths to emphasize that the 2010 is the best improvement of all - LOL).
Now I will put on my flame suit as the Defenders of the 2010 Mustang will take aim!

heheh...
I comment too often on the 10 rear, not because I hate it, just because I HOPE Ford has a ear to the ground on the styling comments, and rethinks some things before the 2014 redesign...it is what it is, its still a great car, but I sure hope to be pleasantly suprised when we finallly see the 2014. The day after seeing the 'reveal' on speed I started shoppin for a spare 'old style', as the 10 style just wasnt gonna be on my next new Mustang wishlist - 99% because of the backend...some like the new, some like the old...
BUT (always a but) I do think anyone thats been on the forums since the 2004 reveal of the S197 would have to agree, that there has been a relative boatload of controversy over the 10 backend styling alone compared to all the hatemail out there on the new 05 styling from the 04 fans...from what I saw, the 05 was nearly a universal 'hit' from all angles, and the 10 is still getting less than 'wow' on its backend...the 10 interior has been a universally accepted 'good evolution' that fits the car well, the front/side updates definitely are 'mustang from a mile away' look styling wise, but the back end...well its had to grow on a lot more folks than it should have- I just hope Ford gets nothing but 'wow' on the 2014, best way for that possibility to occur is for Mustang enthusiasts to speak up and make enough noise that the guys in styling will catch wind of it and hopefully try and find a better compromise of a best fit for what folks want to see in the future.

My total hatred of the new design direction of the rearend was a great gift...I wanted to wait until 2014 for a GT500 and see if they improved it...but I really didnt trust Ford to improve the design...so I began looking for a 08-09 model...and found a fully loaded 08... black on black... garaged GT500 (a perfect match to my 06 GT) with 558 miles on it...paid 42500...put in a stage 2 Brenspeed performance package that added 100 hp rwhp...so now I am set with my favorite design...

question/suggestion for admins:
why 'lock' the threads? as long as folks are civil is there no value in keeping a discussion going for the sake of 'what you'd like to see' in the next generation? might be a constructive subforum- I've printed crap like this out and took to the auto show to discuss with anyone in the ford booth willing to listen, mailed stuff to Ford before, likely will again...believe it or not they LIKE feedback- if its free and from a group rather than one persons opinion, thats the kind of stuff they need to keep moving forward.

Yes I am new to this forum,so I didn't know this was a old topic, but so much for not getting alot of responses...lol..anyway, yes we are all mustang owners, and yes can't we all just get along blah blah blah...also if anyone can't tell the 05-09's to the newer ones then I suspect they have never owned one in there life..Furthermore I would never say I hate the new Mustang, just saying I'm glad I got my 06 when I did

Ok maybe it's just me but I think Ford got it right the first time with the 05-09's.I think the back of the cars looks way better.I don't like the new tailights, and the bottom of the rear bumper, and the side rocker moldings not painted to match the color of the car is a mistake.I do like the new hood, but the grill and the front bumper on the 05-09's looks more aggresive.I can't argue with the new 5.0 over the 4.6,and the new interior is a upgrade, but I'll take my round chrome AC vents anyday! So let the debate begin!
