Default Another question about HID Kit

I'm currently driving a 2007 mustang with stock lights and decided to upgrade to HID lights. Since I'm a noob in this, I was wondering what exactly do I need. I am currently browsing ebay and came across this.

Looks like the H13 9008 is low beam only. I don't know anything about the quality of this kit nor the companies. Usually you get what you pay for.

If you want a good, high quality kit with a lifetime guarantee and great customer service go RetroSolutions.com. Very true, you do get what you pay for. Their kit is plug & play. I've read a lot of problems with the cheap ebay kits.

If your '07 doesn't have the little black "hat" over the end of your present bulbs, you need to get the coating option. This stops the light from coming straight out of the HID tube and blinding oncoming cars. If you have the hat, you're good to go. Good luck

This thing is not a good idea either?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT (Projector Headlights) I guess they replace the whole light.

www.RetroSolutions.com

That is the only place you should get your HID's from.

Wouldn't risk it, I tried to go the projector route on mine and ran into the issue of the housings not being designed for the HID bulbs which tend to be slightly longer than stock halogen bulbs. The extra length prevented the bulb from being mounted in the housing with the tip of the bulb butting against the cut off shield.

I have the 35W, 6000K BiXenon kit from RetroSolutions and couldn't be happier. I've been running them for like 2 years without a single problem, also, I've never been "flashed" by an oncoming driver. I love the 6000K look, just a tinge of blue. They light up the road so well. Like I said earlier, the kit was pure plug & play. I didn't have to cut any wires. If you want to go HID, like east87 said, it's the only place to buy from. If you don't have the shield, get the bulb coating option and you'll be golden.

I'm checking out Retro-Solutions.com. So which bixenon lights am I going for? There's so many models out here. I think I'd like to go with 6000k or 8000k but I don't know how the wattage makes any difference (35W or 55W) and also I'd like to know what model number should I be getting? (H4, H13, 9007 etc)

Our cars use H13 bulbs. 55W is a little brighter than the 35W. OEM HIDs are 35W.
