Default Throttle body

Been driving the car with the new throttle body for a week or so now and it seems like somethings not right. The car runs fine, idles fine, and doesn't throw any codes, but it seems like it needs further calibration or something.

When driving it revs quickly (like it always has) but it seems to take forever for the revs to drop back down. Just during normal driving if I shift at 3k it sometimes takes several seconds for the revs to be back down bellow 1k. Sometimes it seems like the car idles at 1500 for a second, then drops to 1k, then slowly to 750. Any idea why it would do this?

What you have described is the same complaint many people have with aftermarket throttle bodies. It's definitely a tuning issue that can be difficult but not impossible to address with emailed tunes. It's much easier to have a dyno tune to sort out aftermarket throttle body issues.

Thats a bummer. I guess that makes my cams and dyno tune more important now.

From what I understand when you first retune your vehicle it takes "X" number of miles to relearn your driving style. And during that time it tends to stay revved a little higher longer...it did it for about a week or two when I had mine retuned...and occasionally it the idle would waver. Eventually it settled down and now everything runs great again. Give your local ford a call and verify this but I think theyh will verify that if they comp is reset it has to relearn.

I think it has settled down a little bit. I remember it totaly catching me by suprise the first time, and now I'm watching close for it and it seems much more mild.

If its still odd in a week or so I'll do the bbk troubleshooting. If its still rough I'll push harder for a new tune.

Did ya relearn the adaptive learning as the Owner manual shows you how?
Aftermarket TBs are a real pain in the ****.
More pain than any amount of HP increase (1-22).
kEEP THE STOCK ONE IN THE TRUNK WITH TOOLS SO WHEN
the Aftermarket TB gives up the ghost, it dont leave you stranded...

I disconnected the batter for about 10 min when I did the install. Isn't that all you need to do?
