Window Tint Opinion
I am looking into gettting my windows tinted and was wanting some opinions on what % to get. I was thinking about 20% on all the windows but I'm not sure. My car is mineral gray and the interior is black. If anyone has any pics or advice it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Don't forget the moleskins to keep the tint from getting scratched, if you don't have them already.
Sounds like you are supposed to wait until after the install of the tint to add the skins, from what I've read.
Makes me worry about scratching the new tint the first time I put the window down to install the skins...

I have 15%, its nice because its not completley dark, if your looking into the car from standing by it they will look black cause of the black interior. but if another car is next to you they can still see your shadows between the two windows. so that i think is a good color, not to light and still able to see through. i have never had any problems with police. and i drive by them all the time with my windows up. and in cali you arnt supposed to have any tint on your front windows at all. i believe that cops wouldnt pull me over because they see the car and know if i take it off il just throw it right back on cause i have the cash, and it goes with the mustang. whereas ive seen plenty of police pulling people over in ****ty 80's hondas and toyotas, cause they wont be able to afford to put it back on. thats just my opinion though.
I have 30% all around, but with my white car and the all black interior, it looks darker.
If I had to do it all over, which I might, I'd go with 20% and definitely get some kind of moleskin. Mine has started to scratch and look cheap.

Duno the laws in KY, but 20% is a good start for tinting all the way around. Factory glass is about 6% UV already, so with the 20% you should get around 15%.
Some people do different shades of tint on different windows (personally I like a uniform shade so it looks the same all the way around)
Anything around 30% or higher will be a serious waste of your time, IMO (I've been there, I think a lot of us have. You will end up re-doing it)
+1 for Moleskin!
