Well since I am new to the Pony just want to ask about the break in period based on the members of the site. Building bikes we never really waited to do mods..maybe 100 miles then we started playing..I wanted to do a CAI, tune and exhaust for now since the twins are coming. i got a good deal on a C&L CAI if I want to move forward but if I have to wait until 2k miles or such before modding I will just wait on doing anything...thanks

aside from modding, whats the break-in period until you can take the engine into full rev?

i am at 80 miles now.. was thinking this:

0-500 miles : 3200rpm MAX
501-1000 miles: 4000rpm MAX
1001-1500 miles: 4800 MAX
1500-2000 miles: 5500 MAX

what do you guys think?

I let mine hit 1K miles then changed the oil before I got crazy with it.

Sounds good to me, definatly avoid redlining the engine, staying at a fixed speed during the break in period. Congrats and enjoy!
