Default could it be bad gears?

i had a performance shop about 20 miles from me install frpp racing gears "A" last february(13 months ago) on my 07 and it seems like all last summer the gears were getting louder and louder as in whinning. i had them installed with 3600 miles on it and now it has 5600 miles. i stopped at the shop 3 weeks ago and he agreed to look at them at a later date. he says call me in 3 weeks. i called and he said he will check backlash and wear pattern but if it is correct he says i have a bad set of gears and it is between me and ford. anyone ever hear of a bad set of the good ford racing gears with the letter "A"?

I had some that got progressively worse. Eventually I had my 3.55's reinstalled. The shop that put the 3.55's in (different that the shop that did the 4.10's) said everything had been set up correctly on the 4.10's. He also said the frpp 3.73's howled bad unless the backlash is set to minimum. He sure did get the 3.55's dialed in right.

I have had 3 sets of 410s put in by two diff shops and 2 sets howeled on the drive side and 1 set on the cost side, this spring the 4rth set will be going in. hasn't cost me anything more than one install , and a waste of my time.

If backlash is set a little on the high side, you can easily get some whine with FRPP gears.

OP,
I'm inclined to think a poor install is WAY more likely to happen than "bad gears"...
