I rigged my spare to the TPMS and installed a display screen to notify me of the spare tire pressure at all times. My next mod is a video screen in the dash and camera aimed at the spare so I can have a visual confirmation that the spare is OK.

OP, I haven't check mine is a long while. I've only had to pull it out and use it one time, back when my stockers blew a hole in them. I'll probably be checking it this summer when I do my 50,000 mile service.
