Default thumping noise from A/C vents

Ok...My 07 Gt has developed this thumping noise that is coming from my A/C vents when I switch from floor to vent. I'm guessing there's a flap that re-directs the air flow that is either broken, or gotten something glogged in the mechanism.

has anyone else had this issue? Where do I begin to take the dash apart/out to get to this area to fix it?

Just had this fixed on mine. It's the blend door. Mine would go "POP POP POP POP POP POP POP" when going from floor to floor/face mix or when turning on the car when the setting was on floor/face mix.

The dealership took a couple of days to fix it because they ordered the wrong part. The Mustang has 2 blend doors. Make sure they get under the dash (or inside the glove box) and find out exactly which part to order.

I've got the same problem. It does not do it all the time. If I keep the vent setting to the floor vents, it does not make any noise. I know I am going to have to get it fixed some day cuz in the summer with the A/C running, it does it all the time and summer will be here soon enough.

Yes, that's the way it does it, SteveB. If the setting is always on floor, it does not pop.

Does anyone have any PART #'s for these? I guess I can just start taking the dash apart and find out for myself, but it would be nice to get a little jump start on that.
