Default Door Subs

I have been trying to buy a set of the Shelby 8" door mounted subs for a couple weeks now. The Shelby web sight keeps saying they're on back order. Yesterday I got an e-mail from The Shelby Store that the subs are now in. I tried to order them online and it still keeps saying "back order". Today, I finally found a phone number for The Shelby Store (no mean feat) and called. First, I get this dumb bimbo that couldn't find her a$$ with both hands and a dog and after putting me on hold for 5 - 10 minutes, comes back and says, "Yea, they're in", but I can't take an order because our computer took a dump, call back. Called back later in the afternoon; got the same bimbo - this time she says, "Somebody made a mistake, they're still backordered". Maybe Shelby is secretely run by the U.S. Government.

sorry you are having trouble

I have no "bimbo experience" with Shelby- in fact the opposite- unbelivable customer help- a customer service guy TOOK PICTURES of an item I wanted to buy (not big $$) and it ended up answering my question (part wouldnt have fit) and I bought nothing. Amazing

Sorry for your troubles bro, but- you know, - take it easy!

well from what i believe, it doesnt matter if u get a base gt or a shelby, the door subs are still the same....all of the subs ford uses in our cars are made by Infinity and all operate by the door amps which are the same on both cars....if the shaker 500 comes with the car, it doesnt matter which car u get into, it will sound and feel the same (without messing with the radio settings of course)....if you get the upgraded shaker 1000 system, the door subs still use the same door amps as on the other cars but the shaker 1000 comes with an extra trunk mounted subwoofer that uses the extra wattage from the headunit to give it a bit more bass....this is all relevent assuming shelby hadnt taken the stock Infinity door subs and stamped their name on it....even then. the wattage of the "shelby" door subs could still be the same wattage of the OEM door subs and wont do you a bit of good since they operate off of the door amps whioch are the same in all the cars....i would clarify on all of this before pulling the trigger....

I have no first-hand knowledge, but from what I hear on the Team Shelby forums they do sound better (higher quality and more bass). But the whole package is supposed to be really nice. I would hope so for the price tag, but supposedly Kicker made these speakers specifically for our cars.

I think that they are talking about the Kicker/Shelby speaker upgrade system sold through the Shelby American website.

oh okay...i know that the ones that came in my 05 GT were INFINITY speakers because i took them out and replaced them myself and they all said infinity....i dont know anything about the team shelby ones but id still compare the wattage of them to the oem ones to make sure youre getting your moneys worth :-)

Sometimes I feel like my door subs aren't even on, but I need to investigate it further. Like, if I put my ear right up to the sub, I can't even tell for SURE that its working. It almost feels like I'm just hearing the thump from the speaker, since it's only a few inches away. Can I manipulate the headunit so it fades to the rear (rears working, but not front), but still leave the front subs working?

The trunk subs are unquestionable however..they thump
