Default tuning

ok, i tried to search for this answer but couldnt find it...i got my C&L street cai with no tune required (not yet installed) but want to buy a tuner soon. My question is when you get a new mod and an updated tune, do u get that update for all 3 octanes? Example, I buy the cai/tuner combo with the 3 octane tunes on my stock mustang with just the cai, but then i buy an x pipe and throttle body and need an updated tune....what happens now?

Depends where you buy from. I have only had experience with Brenspeed. If you buy the tuner from them, they will give you free updated tunes as needed, but as long as you buy those parts from them. If you buy the parts from somewhere else and then want an updated tune from Brenspeed, it's going to run ya $75. I highly recommend Brenspeed, but also check out what other tuners' policies are.

will your updated tune be for a specific octane level u prefer, and since u have that new mod, will that be the only tune u can use at that point? The previous tunes of the 3 octanes wont work anymore since u have a new mod correct?

The x pipe shouldn't affect the tune unless you are going o/r and they will shut the o2's off which they normally do anyway in a custom tune. I hope you have thoroughly researched the information on here about aftermarket throttle bodies.

Your tune will be made for 3 octanes of your choice. Certain octanes are not available in certain areas, so you will have to inform the company you choose of the 3 you would like. I wouldn't necessarily say the tunes won't work, rather you may get a CEL and some error codes.
