HELP!?!?!?!? gas gauge
ok so today i skidded around a corner and my gas gauge dropped to empty and the light came on(gas light)
any ideas?
i checked to see if i ruptured the tank but its fine
everytime i break traction with my back weels while turning ie. drifting it goes to empty ugh
however it doent do this when i peel out.
ideas?
solutions?

You were low on fuel, slid sideways, causing the fuel to move away from the pickup, thus causing the fuel gauge to trip and the light comes on. There is a baffle in the tank, which is suppose to keep the fuel in one area, but sliding sideways, causes the inertia to move the fuel from the reading assembly. I'd keep more fuel in my gas tank, otherwise, get a tank that is designed for your use.

OP, how much gas was in your tank at that time? Do you have the TCS "off"? If you have a completely filed tank and it goes to empty "every time" when breaking traction, I would bet it there is an issue somewhere with the TCS system or inertia cut off. Are you throwing any codes?

Assuming it's the pick-up, it could be what was stated above (fuel movement) or the level instrument is hanging up. If it's hanging up, try running a can of SeaFoam thru the tank. It's a good idea to do that every 10,000 or 20,000 miles anyway.
If it's not those 2, have you had any other "gremlins"? (thinking water leak/SJB corrosion...)

don't try and show out and "drift" and peel out, it doesn't make you cool it makes you look like a homo IMO and when you have to replace tired for $250 a pop and you can't buy your ricey stuff you'll regret it
