MGW Shifter very loud
i just installed the new MGW shifter and this thing is loud. actually very loud. i used the two sections of soundproofing, dust boot, and both the stock and mgw rubber pad. but the shifter is still very loud. is this normal, or is something wrong? i used the mgw bushings, should i switch them out for the stock bushings?
the mgw in my 2004 was dead quite.

Wow. Something doesn't sound right (no pun intended). I have one of the original MGWs in my '06 GT 'vert and it is "dead quiet". I suggest you contact George at MGW and discuss this with him. MGW has great customer service. Good luck buddy.

Gotta agree with Goldenpony about the guys running MGW and their customer service. Honestly, the help and understanding to help if there is some sort of problem is a HUGE priority to them and they will do everything possible to make it right.
That alone (not even considering their outstanding products) is enough to guarentee I'm a lifetime customer.

its all installed correct. only thing that i didnt like was the directions had me take out the 4 tranny cross member bolts which lowered the tranny about 1 inch to get the shifter out. everything is put back together correctly. huh

okay just called MGW, the tech said there is a underside flange of the boot that has to snap around the shifter first, then the flange around the floor pan of the car, then around the top round part of the shifter. he also stated to use a zip-tie on the top of the shifter to hold it in place.
awesome customer service, and he said they have to update there DVD directions.
i will fiddle with the dust boot when i get some time in the next few days. see how it goes.
