ok so right now all i have is stock everything with flowmaster axels i think its 40 series...i want something louder but i dont have tons of money to spend, and dont want to **** off neighbors so loudmouths are out (I do love their sound though) I hear that flowmasters sound like **** with o/r x pipe...what about a catted x pipe? Should I ditch the flowmasters or is there a good midpipe that will make these louder (performance gain would be nice to) I want to stay emissions friendly. Would getting a different h pipe be pointless? What about a prochamber (not sure what this is) will it make it louder, does it match good with flows and any gains?

There are lots of good setups. Just have to scour youtube for the vids. Offroad setups do not sound that good on the S197, so you'll want to keep some high-flow cats on your midpipe. The prochamber is a really nice midpipe, and you can put two cats on it cheaply and easily.

I think a catted aftermarket midpipe would be pointless. The o/r prochamber's were legendary with the edge and flows. On our 3 valve's good luke telling the difference in note vs. a pypes o/r h matched with an axleback. I honestly don't think a stock setup with the loudmouths are loud at all. Plus you're not going wot and high rev fly bys with your neighbors(one would hope not). I could understand the noise of a cold start early in the am though? I also have heard how bad the flows sound with an o/r x. I would assume a catted x would just provide less rasp and not as much noise.
When I hear you don't have tons of money to spend, the thought of the prochamber just goes right away in my though.

I have flows and I am getting ready to intall an O/R H pipe. It sounds great on my friends stang. Are you set on an x pipe over an H?
