Default Thinking about going to the Track

Well since its getting nicer out I was considering going to the track to get some solid numbers of where my car is at this point, but I have a question since I have never tracked any car before. My car is an auto, what would be the best way for me to take off from the line, I am looking to get as much power (without spinning the tires) as possible off the line without damaging the tranny or anything.

Power brake the car to get the tires hot , then when at the line put it in low 1 mash the gas and go through the gears. Its all you can do when your not using a stall speed converter.

Thats what powerbrake means.

Drive around the water and just do a dry burnout. You are on street tires. Since you have 555 you can put a little heat in them but dont do a drag radial level burn out. Every tire has a different "zone" in temp in which they stick the best. Summer Tires need to be hotter than All-Seasons but cooler than Drag Radials.
