Default 2000 vs 2011 interior

I have my 2011 on order and can't wait! and just love what Ford is doing! (so don't get this post wrong). I've owned a 2000, 2005 and now -hopefully soon - the 2011. Having said that, and forgoing the higher grade of material in the newer models, is it just me or did the 2000 interior look hotter?

I also owned a Mustang II and I'm sensing it in the 2005+ interiors,

You will really notice a difference when you sit in it and drive in it for a while. I'm a huge interior guy I came from an Infiniti G35 and when it was suggested to me to look at Mustangs before making a decision I at first refused because of the interior on prior years. But then I heard of the redesign so I went and looked and ended up with my Mustang a week later... I've had people say the interior looks classy and some can't believe its a mustangs interior.

Um no. The 2010/2011 model interior has all the right retro styling and high quality materials that the 2000 never had.

It may be your opinion that the 2000 is better, but in todays competitive market it would not make the cut.

You can clearly see in the 1968 model where the styling queues came from. I for one am glad they did.

yeah not even close, the 2010-2011 interior is a HUGE improvement for mustangs, i would not have bought mine if it still looked like something that came out in 2000...

I have to agree with the rest, the new interiors have a lot more class than did the early 90s cars, I had a 01 convertible and the interior in my 06 is much better, and I like the 10 and 11s even better.

Yea, it's just you dude. There's nothing wrong if you like the 2000 over the 2010-2011, but since you asked, we all seem to prefer the new ones. I like my 09 just fine, but I never liked the 1990-2000 model interiors. Looks too much like a regular sedan. I also never liked that clam shell look of the dash pods. The newer style is the winner. I can't wait to see what they do with the next generation.

Well I stand alone and I'm glad every one is enamored with it, since I've got one on order. What doesn't work for me (and as note - in todays market) is the straight bar dash that doesn't flow into the door. Remember I said forgoing the better quality material (so I'm not sure why that is a topic) and I think Ford has continued to make a classy look with just the right amount of retro, woven into a modern fit and finish. I just would prefer a bit of flow both around and into the door. Seems that while I am alone on this post, other manufactures like it also... but it is all good - thanks for the replies!

I liked the look of my 95 mustangs interior, Comfy, and nice to look at, everything in reach. which looks exactly like the 00 interior. mine was in tan. But I really really really like the modern touches on a classic look inteiror ford had done, same with the exterior. IMO the camaros and hyndais interior is very bland, and the 370z is way to busy. Mustang one is perfect.
