Default Problem with estimated fuelage.

I have a 2006 Mustang GT and lately on the dash where it gives you the estimate miles before empty, when I go to fill up it doesn't reset itself. Like example it might say 50 miles before empty. I fill up and it still says estimated 50 miles before emtpy for example. Just started doing this couple days ago. My fuel gage correctly adjust though.

What can be the problem?

"Estimated fuelage"... ok.

Not turning the ignition off at the pump can cause some strange fuel readings. Also, are you resetting any of the parameters and allowing some time/mileage for the on-board to adjust?

Always have it off while filing up. I've tried resetting everything.

In the winter when I fill up the needle wouldn't move until the second time you started the car, now it moves the first time you start up after filling. Could it be something with the temperature?

You might want to read thru the TSB's in one of the sticky's to this forum. I know there's one for the fuel pump that's associated with hesitation but I recall someone mentioning one regarding the fuel level sending unit. If so, perhaps that's your issue. And unless you're a good negotiator, most Ford dealers won't honor the TSB as warranty work.

Fuelage. I like it! fuelage=fuel mileage. Or something like that.

Yeah, I looked, too, and this was the closest I could come to a TSB regarding the fuel sending unit: http://www.stangnet.com/images/stori...s/06-10-13.pdf

hmm. How would Sulfur get in it?

Could it be because of that Ethanol garbage they are using in the gas now?

Most fuels have some sulfur content. Cheap fuel tends to have more. A lot depends on the refinery and where the crude comes from.
