Yeah, I was debating on whether I wanted to spend that kind of money on this or not, but now after I have it, it was money well spent.

Not needing a key is very cool. Its nice to walk up to the car and just have the doors unlock on their own without having to hit anything, or when walking away.

Also, like I said, it's impossible to lock yourself out of your car with this system too.

OP,

Why did it cost you $600 for the system when on the website it says it's $399?

This is something I might want to do in the future. I just think it's neat and something I'd like to tackle installing since I love modding my car.

Because the one they have on their site doesn't have the automatic door unlock feature. You'd end up having to pay extra for that. I called and talked to them and the guy asked me if I wanted a system that was more high end and that's when we got into the system I have. It has a different start button as well as the door lock/unlock feature, and a thinner key fob that has better technology. If you call them and mention "David Sinclair" or "the 2010 Mustang in the DC area" he'll probably remember.

i know this is an old thread but are you still happy with the guard dawg system? Have you had any issues? I can't stand the key and fob knocking against my knees. I know flaming river makes a system as well but it seems more expensive and better suited for vintage hot rods rather than a 2011 stang. thx

One of the best things for a car. My fiance's 2011 Sonata has it.

I will go with my 'push the clutch and it starts' mod.
Is it underway? You've mentioned this for a few months now.

Underway?
It has existed since day 27 of ownership.
