Question Catch Can with aftermarket CAI?

Never had any blue smoke or anything.

Installed a C&L Racer CAI and Brenspeed tune last week.
Just wondering if putting in an aftermarket CAI would make you need a catch can more than a stock set up.

I have seen others talking about blue smoke and such and read a thread about it then saw an add for one so I was curious if I would be more prone to needing one.

Thx.

catch can, separator, or breathers is always a good idea.

I can't believe how much nasty oil my catch can and oil separator catch in a short amount of time. Only when I get in the boost though

from what i understand:

boosted: highly recommended

NA: some guys have them, but its not needed as much as a boosted motor. but it cant hurt at all.

when its colder outside and i start my car up for a few seconds (like to move it in the driveway) then shut it down. the next time i start her up i get some smoke for a second. doesnt happen all the time, mostly when its cold out.

I don't think it's needed any more with an after market CAI when compared to stock. It is just something good to have in these cars.

Mine does the samething, both before and after the blower install. I am installing a catch can on mine just cant find the right hoses.

A CAI has no impact on the amount of smoke that you'll puff on a start after a short start/shutdown. But the catch can is simply a good idea, period.
