Was I an idiot for not researching and waiting for the 11?

Well hey, good thing the 2013's will be out in the spring of 2012. We'll at least get a few good months of fun out of them before the whole world evaporates into thin air.

It's funny, the 2010 owners who were in your shoes and had to spend the money all love their decision (me included) but everyone who doesn't have a 2010 thinks you should just spend more money as if it's no object.
You got a great car, be happy with it. If you over paid, yes I would be dissappointed but it seems like you got a great deal like the rest of us, so congrats. We 2010 owners really made out well, we got a new car for less money then some used s197s, not to mention the better suspension and more power.

Comments like yours is like saying "in the real world with average driver behind the wheel, it would be very close race between a 2010 GT and a 2010 V6.
Think about that, their is similar difference in power between the 4.0 liter V6 and the 4.6 liter V8 as there is between the 4.6 V8 and the 5.0 V8.
Quit kidding yourselves, it would take a moron behind the wheel of the 2011 5.0 to lose to an average driver in a 2010 GT "in a real world race."
You will lose by bus lengths to a 2011 GT in a 2010 GT with two "average" drivers.
There is nothing wrong with the 2010 GT
But it's exactly that, a money savings that makes it a perfectly acceptable justification when comparing it to the 2011 GT
There is not a single 2010 GT owner out there that wouldn't admit if the price was within $3k between the two, they'd pay the extra $3k (if they could afford that) in a heartbeat for the 2011 with the 5.0. But if $3k difference is enough to make it or break it financially for you when buying a car, you should be looking at a cheaper car all together anyway.
Heck I'm sure there are many 2010 GT owners who would say they'd of paid $5k for the 2011 GT.
And there will be plenty of 2010 GT owners who WILL take that kind of a hit and more when they sell their 2010 GT for the 2011 GT to be sure.
This isn't anything new guys, hoardes of people do this every year.
I myself took a $2,500 loss after 4 months with my brand new BMW 335i sedan, when I decided I really wanted and should of gotten the BMW 335i Coupe. So I swapped the car out for the coupe after only 4 months and 3,000 miles for the coupe. I was an idiot and should of gotten what I really wanted in the first place.
It happens.
Be happy with what you have, or dump it and get what will make you happy, period.
Rant over, sorry.

I guess for me being that I don't have "***** envy" and think I have to have whatever the baddest is... I am more than happy with my 2010 and will continue with my mod plans that have always included the S/C. If I get beat I get beat... no biggie. You'll go broke trying to keep up with each new model with more power.
Most of us don't buy the car to drag race anyways...so what's all the fuss over "thinking" you made a mistake or having some others on this site try to convince you you made a mistake. Man up and make your own decision..who gives a crap what anyone else thinks!!
