Default Corsa Xtreme Question

I was looking at these for my 2010, particularly as they seem to have the least chance of the dreaded "drone."

However, I read someone else that they're really not that much louder than the stock mufflers -- though the Xtremes are supposed to be louder than the Sports or Tourings.

Feedback from those who have the Xtremes?

Someone has posted a video somewhere on these. It's either under the main 2005 - 2011 section or possibly under the 2010 section under Technical

Thanks, Wil. Youtube has a bunch, but I don't think I'm getting the true affect through computer speakers.

I want something significantly louder than stock, but not so loud that the neighbors complain. How overwhelming is the Roush O/R? Does it delete the cats?

I'm running 4.10s, so I also need to consider not getting overwhelmed when running highway speeds. And, of course, I'm trying really hard to avoid drone.

It's from the H-pipe back. It has drone at around 2000 to 2300 RPM. With the 3.73 gears it puts you right in the drone zone on the highway around 75 - 80 MPH. It is ALOT louder than stock. Sounds awesome at idle, WOT and jumping on it around town.

I am also looking at some Corsa Extremes due to the NO DRONE......or so they say

Yea, I'm really torn here. I want "ALOT louder" than stock, but the drone idea is bothering me. Looking at Corsa's write-ups, it seems a lack of drone is what they specialize in.

However, I'm wondering if the Xtremes are really that much louder than stock?

Here's the video/thread I posted earlier this week: https://mustangforums.com/forum/2010...eme-video.html

They ARE absolutely louder than stock, however there are other systems which are "louder". Keep in mind louder is quite subjective, I would say that the Corsa Xtreme's are considerably louder than stock....but not near as loud as my Hemi Ram with dumped glass packs.

Having loud AND no drone is quite a booger, probably not going to find something with both.

Hope this helps.

With this in mind, I'll spend the obscene cost for Corsa's again on our next Mustang and on the Corvette I'll eventually get....why....because Corsa's are very badass....IMO.

No, I'm saying that Corsa Xtremes are louder than stock and have no drone, but this all depends on what cidsamuth considers as "a lot louder" than stock. For myself, I say that the Corsa Xtreme's are considerably louder than stock, but for someone with a setup such as yours, I would consider that system "a lot louder".

I think the verbiage would have been better put this way: "having what one considers A LOT louder, may be hard to obtain with truly no drone".

Now with that said, the decision needs to be made on whether cidsamuth would rather deal with drone and a system that is extremely loud, i.e. an off-road system, or have a system like Corsa which has no drone and is still loud enough to make people look.

Hope this clears things up a bit more.

I have the Roush O/R but I think I may be switching to the Corsa Extremes. I am tired of dealing with the highway drone... and I do alot of highway driving

Okay, so riddle me this: If you had to guesstimate on db levels, how much louder than stock are the Xtremes and how much the Roush ORs?
