Default Ford’s SYNC AppLink Brings Android and BlackBerry Apps to Your Car

http://mashable.com/2010/04/20/ford-sync-applink/

Ford is announcing SYNC AppLink, a downloadable software upgrade for Ford SYNC systems that will allow hands-free voice control of popular applications for the BlackBerry and Android smartphones. The first car to get SYNC AppLink support will be the 2011 Fiesta, which will be available later this summer.

What about iPhone? It might be worth it to shell out $500 if it will include the most popular phone in the world.

Pretty sure Apple does not have an API to control the iPhone via the Bluetooth connection.

Kind of a goofy looking car there. I don't like how head lights and even tail lights these days are long and curvy that flow with the body. I prefer plain ol round lights.

Car are just looking goofier and goofier as time goes on. The days of good looking cars died many decades ago.

As I'd love to get iPhone support too, I highly doubt it. I'm sure Microsoft is gonna give another reason to get the iPhone. lol

If that were true they wouldn't support the iPod; Think about it - you have a chance to increase your market share by supporting a popular platform? No brainer.

The issues is Apple does not have the API to support it at this time. Apple is more proprietary and closed than some realise.
