Default CD error??

I have a shaker 1000 and "CD Error" comes up on the little monitor. It also makes funny noises like it's cycling through the CDs. Will it keep on doing that over night?? It started doing it when I put the battery power back on after my Vortech install and the CD player never worked right since.. it just says "initializing".

how do I (If I can) re-start/re-set it??

... luckily it stops cycling completely after the doors lock.

I'll eventually just get a new deck, don't want to take any chances of it flipping out and draining my battery.

I seem to remember others with this issue. I believe the fix is to disconnect the negative battery terminal for about 20 minutes or so.

Give it a try. Costs nothing.

Typical.
Your next post will be 'my battery died"' unless you get it removed or fixed.
Is it loaded with store bought CDs or CD-Rs?

The Shaker 500 is very noisy. It sounds like it's always straining and having a hard time making up it's mind on what to do. Mine's kinda always been like that. I get the CD Error message once in awhile or the Bad Disc error, but then I just pop the disc back in and it works fine. Not quite sure why it's like that. I still think it's more noisy and mechanical sounding than it needs to be.
