Just bought '10 GT to replace 08 M3

it was primarily the car payments.... the mustang is less than half every month! over a 5 yr period ads up. then I had a "baloon" payment that would have been due at the end of nearly $25,000 (almost the price of the entire mustang!).
it was my mistake and ridiculous for me to buy a car that expensive even with my salary then. Sticker when I bought it was around $70k. It was a great ride, don't get me wrong, but not $40k better than a mustang, not even close!!

The M, (at least mine) didn't seem as fast as advertised. it is a smaller motor that needs very high revs to move (8,400 RPM) and is missing torque completely. That is one of the appeals to me of the larger zo6, mustang, etc type motor... after all, it is really how it drives and feels to me more than the 1/4 mile time as 99.9% of driving is done on the street (if it's an everyday car for you).
just my lousy .02 worth

2008 M3 is an amazing car but I do agree for what you pay vs. performance is not worth it. I had the pleasure of driving one of these for a few weeks last year and it was great, but not the price tag that comes with it. The model I drove was also their new twin clutch 7-speed, really nice. Congrats on your Mustang, not a better car for the money out there. Unfortunately, I had to get rid of my GT and get a 4 door car again.

Lots of import buyers are stuck in the 70s when it come to Domestic cars, they refuse to see the reality... It has changed you know. LOL.
Those M cars are so overpriced, it's not even funny.
A Z06 will spank that car in every category for the same price, plus the Vette looks better by far IMO.
Anyway, put Konis on your Stang with lowering springs, upgrade the brakes, install a blower and you're set to kick some serious butt with less than $10K.
When you'll see an M at the light, real fun will ensue for sure.
The Stang is still the best deal for the money, and the 2011 pushes that concept even further.
Good luck and welcome to the Forums.
