So the last few times I have driven the car it developed an pretty bad rattle in the trunk area. So yesterday I removed the trunk liner that covers the spare tire to look around. My rattle turned out to be the tire iron rattling on the spare wheel. It had worked its way out of the cloth sleeve and was rubbing the wheel. Anyway my question is why is the inside of my trunk painted green when my car is black. Did Ford forget to paint the trunk or are they all this way??
Mines gold...Maybe just the GT's have the green? lol I have no idea what the purpose would be though...Maybe on the darker colored cars so you don't see all the scratches down there...
Maybe anti corosion Zinc Oxide is very common, The rattle same here and when the 2008 GT500 got it's review they could not find the rattle and even took note of it in the write up.

That's funny about the rattle. It is a pretty poor setup to have the tire iron just laying on the spare tire like they do. I took mine out of the crappy holder and wrapped it up in a towel and tucked it in beside the spare. It stopped the rattling. Don't know about the zinc stuff. It just seemed odd that the inside of my trunk is a dark green color.
