05gt front sus!

Default 05gt front sus!

anyone run into a problem with the front suspension on the 05 gt making a bad "clunk" when travelling up! only seems to happen when you hit a bump and wheel is on its way up! any help would be great! driving me nuts!

There's a TSB in the stickies on it. Since you're out of warranty, you'll either have to make the repair yourself or pay the shop. In some instances, you may be able to simply retorque the strut and support nuts.

My car has the clunk you described.
I believe it's the upper strut mounts, since the stock
ones are plastic and known to fail.

Alternatives include GT500 strut mounts and Steeda's
HD strut mounts.

^^^you are right^^^ I had that problem fixed way back in May 05 and just before I got rid of the 05gt in Sept 08 the noise was back.

I have a 2007 and had the same issue, I got it fixed under warranty, there was a TSB for it and they replaced the strut mounts. So far, 40,000mi later, it has not come back yet.
