Default Need new Control Arms, already?

I just had my wheels balanced and the tech showed me the play my front ball joints/control arms have on them. I was shocked. My car only has 70,000 miles on it. He told me they see this a lot with the S197. My question -- Do I need to replace the entire control arm, or should I just get the ball joints done?

If I need to do the whole arm, a GT500 set would be in my best interest, correct?

Thanks.

it happens.

if you likve in a place with rough roads it's very possible.

I like the GT500 idea, but are they different? I've always been a fan of using OEM whenever possible

They are different in that they have better bushings and are a bit stronger. FRPP said they will fit with no issues on a GT.

Pick up a set of GT500 arms. The joints are welded into the stock arms so you have to replace them anyway. I have a set of GT500 arms with Steeda X5's in them. Good, heavy duty units.

Yes GT-500 arms will fit properly and they have stronger bushings and more stout ball joint.

Hey Trez, your lucky...just got ball joints on my '05.....that has 37K on it! These NJ roads SUCK, plus I drive into the City of Camden everyday for work. You literally fall into pot holes there! Would like to get a beater truck to drive there instead.

I just pressed the ball joints from the stock arms and replaced them with Steeda X5 ball joints.

You can use the Steeda or the Hot Parts ball joints if your car is lowered.
