Quick question for you guys. This is my first set of aftermarket wheels but my 5th vehicle. I've had performance tires before but only on stock wheels..

Is it normal that going up 1 size, from 17" to 18", and with the tires I've selected that the ride feels "a little-rough"? Maybe I'm not used to "feeling" the road more like I can now with these wheels/tires. To be honest, it almost feels like these wheels/tires aren't balanced properly. My steering wheel will shake a little at different speeds but at the same time it doesn't always do this and I can't always replicate it. I was on the interstate yesterday doing 60, 70 and 75 and had no vibration. But last night on the way home, and on certain roads, going 40, 45 and 55 I could feel vibration in the steering wheel. Then this morning I got it up to 80ish on a "back" road and the steering wheel was vibrating some. Its almost like it depends on the road I'm on. Is it possible there's just a break in period for these new tires?

Any and all suggestions and thoughts on this is greatly appreciated.

Interesting......Maybe you have to enter a certain number of posts, before you are able to edit?

Let me tell you what I have experienced in the past with taller or shorter tires than the factory 27.3" height. If you run a tire that is shorter or taller on the rear of your car, the pinion angle of the drive shaft vs. the rear end changes. This in turn puts a bind on the u joint and causes a vibration through the car when you drive. Two ways to fix your problem.

1. Return to a tire that is the factory 27.3" height

2. You are already planning to lower the car, this will require you to buy adjustable linkages to realign the pinion angle.

Option 2 is the best choice for you since you plan to lower the car in the future.

Redfire - You may also want to consider Steeda Proaction struts/springs with the their sport springs - the ride is fine and it handles great. Price is not bad either. I've had this combo for a few years. Either way, get her dropped.
