Rear suspension squeaks/thumps/bumps/etc
Lowered on BMR springs with D-spec struts, adjustable UCA (poly bushings), BMR adjustable PHB (poly bushings).
There is a thud noise whenever hitting a small bump/pot hole. After noticing distinct marks where the bump stops come into contact with the frame, a mechanic has diagnosed the bump stops hitting the frame as the cause of the problem. I tried doing a few searches to find out how others have countered this problem but have not found a satisfactory answer. Are there shorter aftermarket bump stops to be used on lowered cars or is the only way to counter this by cutting down the stock bump stops? Is cutting them safe/practical/worthwhile?
Squeaking noise (sounds like it is coming from the rear drivers side) whenever hitting any sort of bump in the road as well as getting in/out of vehicle, low speed breaking, etc. I am assuming this is caused by the poly bushings on the panhard bar. The bushings were definitely over-greased to ****, but I mean, shouldn't that aid in reducing the noise (reducing contact of poly to metal)? By taking it out, cleaning the bushings out and re-greasing them, should this help to eliminate some of the noise? I know that when switching from rubber (stock) to poly bushings you pick up some noise but come on, what I've got going on is ridiculous; every single bump I hit and then some... What are some other remedies I could attempt to eliminate some/most of the squeaking (if it is indeed coming from the panhard bar and not some other component)?
Thank you,

i didnt cut my bump stops, i have no noises. if your bmr adjustable nut is loose it can make quite a bit of noise, i would put some blue locktite under it and tighten it hard with a 1 1/8" open end wrench, that would be the easiest fix. otherwise the polys can make a little more noise if they arent lubed up. steeda told me they had problems with people over greasing the panhard bars, so dont put too much on there, make sure everything is tight.
Ya I went in and re-torqued everything I could find back there to spec: panhard bar bolts/frame connector, strut bolts, etc. I'll definitely have to try cleaning the bushing and re-lubing it as well as checking the adjuster bolt. BTW siberian, I just got around to getting that UCA I got from you the other day along with a whole slewth of other parts. As soon as the gears get broken in and I can start driving harder I'll let you know how it hooks. Thanks
Mine does the same thing. I have Steeda Sport springs, D-specs, and the steeda panard bar and I swear when I go over small bumps it sounds like the whole back end is falling off the car. I was thinking it was the rear shocks, and was going to swap out the D-specs for the stock but maybe I will try to swap out the adjustable panard for the stock one and see what happens. Its some god awful noise though!! I am ready to rip it all out and go back to stock except for the springs if this noise wont go away. I almost thought it was the motor or something for my covertable top that was loose or something since I cant find any loose bolts anywhere else.
