3/36 is the 3 year/36,000 mile (whichever comes first) bumper-to-bumper warranty on cars sold in the USA.

Stop driving to avoid more miles, until you get it fixed. Since your car is still under warranty, they should do the repair at their cost. Make sure you show them a copy of the TSB. It they beat around the bush, try another dealer.

yeah i think it's different in canada. we got a 4yr/100000km bumper to bumper and drivetrain warranty. i'm going in on thursday to speak directly with the srvice manager. and thought might as well get service a bit early even though it hasn't been 5000km since last service.

Since your car will be in the shop for two or more days, they should give you a free rental as well. They did for me.

So ironic, as I expected this as well.

At this very moment my 2008 GT is at the dealer reflashing the airbag module, repairing the tranny for 2 TSBs, and repainting my roof for the imperfection I posted a link too on page one of this thread. This is over a weeks worth of work, and this is what the service writer @ my dealer told me.

"We don't give loaner/rental cars for warranty work"

I was like, WTF! How do they expect me to get around for a over a week while they have my car?

Wait, you have an '88 Deville and you expect to get something fixed under warranty? I've got to be missing something

Well, my dealer ended up giving me a free rental car due to the time it was taking to rebuild the transmission. Took 10 days to get my car back, I think I had the rental for 3 days. They did repaint my roof, but didn't wet sand and buff the clear coat to slick it out. It doesn't match the factory orange peel (way more). So they said to bring it back Wednesday and they will slick it up. I'm also going to have them repaint under my hood lip, it has a lot of corrosion as well. Good job Ford! (sarcasm)

This issue is why I have the hood I do. No shop in the area wanted anything to do with repainting it.
