I have the same problem, mine is scattered across the entire underside, lip area of the hood. Some has even spread to the outer side, making it visible from the front. To say the least, it looks bad and makes me pissed. I tried calling Ford, but since my car is out of warranty, they want absolutely no parts of it. (Multiple calls, ignored messages.. you get the point)

This seems to be a fairly common problem that Ford knows about and has been going on since 2000. There's even a TSB for it. And from what it seems, not many people have had results getting it resolved. It seems the only real solution, is to get a new hood.

Trust me take care of this while you're still under warranty (3/36) otherwise I can personally vouch for what alec is saying....Ford doesn't want any part of it even though the TSB spells out their lack of quality control during the painting process.

I even printed it out, took it in and made them acknowledge it... nothing

It's embarrassing on their part

I did too and the service manager even agreed with me but Ford is the one who denied the warranty claim. I even called Ford customer service myself in reference to the case the service manager submitted and all Ford would say is that it's corrosion therefore not covered under warranty.....I went rounds with them on the phone and I got so frustrated that I ended up hanging up on them.

I found an odd paint defect forming on the roof of my car earlier this week. Check it out. Hope this is an isolated incident.

If life/ford serves you up lemons, then get a fiberglass hood.

Get it there while it's still under warranty.
