Default 1st time drag racing with Whipple; need help

Setup is Whipple HO, 8psi pulley (386rwhp mustang dyno), stock suspension, 2010 gt500 take off 285/35/19 Godyear F1 rears on 19" TSW wheels and exhaust, stock 3.55 rear gears

My previous best with WMS 95mm intake, SCT tune, bassani x pipe and corsa exhaust was 14.22 at 100.22mph. 60 foot times in the 2.2 range

The best of my 3 passes last night was 13.26 @ 107.8 MPH. The DA for the night at the track was 4700feet. My 60 foot on that pass was a 2.07 (my other two passes were 13.4's and 60 foots of 2.1...) I did get almost 109mph on my last pass but I spun a bit in 1st.

I was leaving the lights at about 2400 rpm with a little wheel spin but no wheel hop. I dropped the pressure in the tires from 35-25psi for the track.

Corrected for the DA my best pass is a 12.95 @ 110mph.

I was hoping for high 12's with my setup. I'm looking for insight on how to shave a few tenths off. Obsiously drag radials or et slicks will drastically improve my time however that is one mod I am unwilling to do at this point. I don;t want to do gears either. My whole idea is complete street spec at the strip. If anyone can point me in the right direction the help would be greatly appreciated.

Still happy with chopping off a full second from my times but I feel like there is more to be gained...

Getting rid of the 19 inch wheels would really help, but i'm afraid you aren't going to improve much without drag radials. Almost a full second better than your previous time ain't bad though.

The 19's are staying put haha, but I do agree weight and rotating mass is probably hurting me a bit there. It is a nice wide tire though. Also I am happy with cutting off a second in the 1/4mile, getting into 4th gear was a new thing for me.

I see you have an aluminum DS; however it looks like you haven't been back to the track to see if there are any gains to be had with that mod. I hear conflictIng thoughts about whether or not I will see a tenth or two chopped off. So all things considered, is my 13.26 decent?...I see you ran a 12.5 I;m thinking the 4.10's and suspension mods are helping, what HP are you at?

Well, if you are not willing to make some changes i.e 4:10 gears, 18" wheels, Drag tires or smaller pulley, then you are about done. One piece aluminun DS may give you another tenth off. Good luck. Seriously , those 3:55 gears and 19" tires are not helping you....!!!!

wow da corrected or not somethings up. my 10 gt bone stock with 800 miles on it and 19in wheels ran 13.4 @ 105. my 07 gt with longtubes cai and brenspeed tune ran 13.0 @110 with 3.31 gears and stock tires. are you an auto or manual? if your a manual what are you shifting at? your trap speed of 107mph and your in 4th is kind of odd even with 3.55's. i have 3.73s and im still in 3rd at 105 mph

It's a manual. Shifting at 6000rpm...not even sure what fuel cut off is (peak HP is at 5800rpm), i'm fearful of overreving. The track isnt the greatest...to put things into perspective...2010 Corvette GranSport was running 13.10's and there were 2 supercharged cts-v autos running; one did a 13.05 and one was a 13.25 ET. Stock mustangs/light bolt ons at my track will run in the 14.10-14.70 range.

Well if I do gears; 4.10 or 3.73 I have no hope of getting traction with a twin screw blower and street tires. It's my DD so having the 3.55 for HWY is good. I'm running 8psi now, im sure 9 or 10 would be "safe". However i'd like to learn how to drive it for now. Thanks for the info guys.

Doesn't the trap seem a little low for a near 390whp car? Corrected 110 still doesn't seem right to me.

Changing to the 3.375 pulley would be the easiest and cheapest way to get you into the 12's.

My car only dynoed 404/412tq. That's the whipple tune and 3.375 pulley. That was on vmp tunings dyno.
