sounds like an actuator to me. That is so weird to be coming from there. Never heard it before

The shifter in my automatic did that, and something broke in the mechanism (wasn't the cable). Was under warranty at the time.
Exact same thing, could not get it into park like you described.

Turns out the shift assembly broke, and it's no longer in warranty. Ford quoted about $250 for parts and around $150 for labor... Fun times!

You mean the actual shifter? You can buy a TCI ratchet shifter for that price and install in 30 minutes!

lol, damn that was loud, I turned my volume way up on pc thinkin it was going to be a faint noise, hahaha
