Default Did I break a spark plug??

Ok so I've got them all loosened up with a tq wrench at 25ft/lbs.

All broke free and are soaking right now.

One spark plug though loosened very easily so I continued backing it out, hardly requiring any torque. Once it got towards the end, it will turn maybe 3 or 4 times and then get a little tighter and then "pop" and its loose again. Turn 3 or 4 times, tighten, and "pop". I tried pulling it out of the well with needle nose but it didn't come out.

No clue whats goin on here....

Make sure your using a magnetic spark plug socket when your pulling those? How many miles are on your car?

Yes, i do need a magnetic spark plug socket! I had to pull them all out with my needlenose. It worked though.

And that pop was nothing. It happened on all of them. I just got really nervous because of all the horror stories.

I used a TQ wrench set to 25 ft lbs with a 10" extension (lost a little tq) and they came out fine. twisted them out 1/4 turn and then loaded them down with SeaFoam Deep Creep. Let em sit for 30 minutes. They all came out fine. Only two scary parts: the plug boots go back on so easy that its scary! I didn't know for sure if they were on or not! and when all that sea foam settled into teh cylinder, it smoked quite a bit out of the engine bay for a second or two.

Good to go though. Car runs great!

TQ wrench and some Seafoam deep creep. Don't go past 25 ft lbs and you should be ok. Wasn't that bad!

Hi Lupo222, I was wondering what plugs you used? Did you have any issues with the previous ones? I have the Hot Rod cams too and am noticing a little miss now and then. I have heard these cams can be tough on spark plugs so just wondering what ones you used and do you like them? Thanks for any help.

You can use apiece of fuel line too to remove the plugs too. It keeps your hands from getting down in any hot areas and makes it easy to start threading the plugs.

my socket had a nice rubber ring at the top inside that snagged the top of the plug

made it easy to pull

I'm glad it went OK for you.

I just use one of those magnetic pick up tools to lift the plugs out.
