In fact I negotiated the contract on this Passenger Airbag (PAB). I worked with Engineering and Suppliers daily, and saw this PAB in testing.

DiscoDave your mods have been great and everything you have done is fantastic. That said, it is very very dangerous to have the pony over the airbag. The force of the airbag against the pony is so extreme that it will likely severely injure or kill your passenger. I realize that having a passenger and getting in an accident is extremely rare, but I would rather be safe than sorry. I am sorry to be preachy, but it really worries me.

Let me know if you have any questions,

Lose the pony.......

Oh and your car looks great.....
Thanks for the compliments guys. When I applied the adhesive to where the pony is, I only put it on the bottom portion, so if the airbag does go off it shouldn't push the pony straight out, but it should stick to the bottom portion of the dash piece. Trust me, it's on there very strong and shouldn't come off.

I do appreciate the concern though. I've had this car for almost a year now and have only had one passenger in the car, only one time. My wife and I always take her Volvo if we're going anywhere.

Brushed aluminum looks good. Oversized pony emblem on the dash looks way too gaudy IMO. I guarantee, no matter how you attached that thing to the dash, a 5-7g explosive force will not keep that thing from coming loose and killing a passenger. I tend to be more minimal so the Cobra floormats would be replaced with black or grey plain ones JMO.....

I agree with the others on the pony being a bad idea. Mainly because i think its insanely oversized and too flashy compared to the dash. The dash kit looks great though.

the pony is kinda cool, but safety first! We preach no road racing and take it to the track...this kind of applies to that! car looks great though, you have convinced me to get a dash kit! I have been looking at one for a while now but i couldnt pull the trigger!

Agreed.

I'd also change out the floormats to the tribar pony or just a pony

For those of you who like this.... Thanks!

For those of you who don't like it..... You're a bunch of meanie poo-poo heads! Just kidding!!!!

Yeah, I also thought it may be too big or too flashy... I'll say that it's in the trial phase and once I find another option I like better I'll go with that.

I'm keeping the floormats I have. After all, I did just pay a hundred bucks for them. Maybe I'll go with the tribar ones when/if these ever wear out.

The kit looks great. Much better than the woodgrain.

The lloyds mats are on my list. Already have a bare spot on the stock one.
