Just took my right rear tire off my 2007 GT and had it patched for a small hole (drove over a screw). When I put the tire back on and tried to start the car, it started making that funny noise (almost like when the battery is dead) and it wouldn't start.

Would this have to do with the TPMS? I thought I put it back on in the same position as when I removed it. Should I try disconnecting the battery?

Maybe you just have a bad battery.

Edit: Generally a TPMS wouldn't keep the car from starting.

Nevermind, it's working now. Let it sit for 10 minutes and now it start up normally with no TPMS light. Maybe a weak battery? Guess I'll look into it this week.

Weak battery syndrome.
Have the doors open during this 'tire repair'?
The TPMS is fully passive and wont/cant leave you stranded.
Tire placement is not critical either, BTW.

I was wondering if you had tripped the fuel pump relay...but it sounds more like a dead battery (onset anyways)

even if you left the doors open the entire time, after 10 minutes your Battery Saver circuit would have killed the lights.

was your trunk lid open the entire time?

These TPMS seem to be a PITA. Has anyone removed them and not thrown the car into chaos?

removing the TPMS sensors doesn't do a thing to the car. it simply lights up a small little light on the dash.

Which would just require removing the bulb?

When you get new wheels, do you need new TMPS's? I thought I remember reading that you do, and they aren't cheap...
