Default Battery issue

I posted a while ago about my HID's acting up, well i found my culprit. My battery is only holding a 40-50% charge. So i need to buy a new one. Does anyone run a non-oem battery like a red-top optima or something "bigger" than stock. Thanks

Reason im asking is i called for a price on a red-top and the guy told me it wont fit in my model year car.

Probably because his computer didn't tell him it would. Anything can be made to fit but you might have to figure out a new hold down for the battery.

Welcome to the S197 battery saga.

Interstate would be my first choice followed by Diehard. You really don't NEED a bigger battery, just a GOOD one. Optima's are great if you don't mind spending more money for no true gains over the others I mentioned, unless you tend to run electronics with the ignition off.

Unless Ford changed their sub-vendor for their MotorCrap battery, 4-5 years is very optimistic. An unusual percentage of 05-07 owners were barely getting 3 years on the OE battery.
