Default Brenspeed

I used bama last time and on my new stang im going to use brenspeed. I went to their website and i am a little confused. Im going to buy the intake package but does that come with a custom tune with it? Also, if I add mods to i have to purchase them from brens website to be able to get it tuned again? Or would I just email them and they give me a new one?

You're going to have to link the package in question for me to be able to answer your question properly. If you buy upgrades from them, they will send you a new tune for free via email if you request it.

I'm happy with my Brenspeed tune. Just take into consideration that you're cursed to buy new parts from them if you want another tune. Can't buy parts from anyone else or buy used, or you have to pay for a new tune. Really rubs me the wrong way.

Makes sense to me. Many people have to pay a tuner to update their tune for new stuff regardless of where the buy the gear from. So long as Brenspeed doesn't start charging more than what the part should be just so we get a free tune, I'm okay with it. Good business model.

I would have to agree, if I bought something off Ebay, I would not expect my tuner to update my tune for free, they have to make a living too..

Unless it's something out of the ordinary, I'd assume it's just a file they have on-hand that just needs to be e-mailed out.

Well just because something is easy doesn't mean it should be given away for free . Anyone can buy the software/hardware to tune their cars. You aren't just paying for the files, but for the time/education/setup that was involved in getting them there. Back when I had my 66 gmc with Vette fuel injection, I got tired of paying a tuner for chips, so I bought the stuff and taught myself how to tune it.

I completely understand that. It's entirely my opinion that it's just sort of "ehh" to me to pay for another tune simply because I didn't buy a part from them. My comment isn't intended to offend anyone, just something I'm not thrilled about. It's certainly a smart business design. For instance, if I were to find headers or something for $50 or so cheaper with another vendor, but I had a Brenspeed tune, I'm not going to save any money with the other vendor because I'm locked into Brenspeed unless I want to pay for another tune.
