Default Just got dynoed

I took the trip down to brenspeed to see what the ol stang has...turns out not what i thought. Best of the three runs was 290hp 307tq. Now it was 86 degrees and i am pretty sure my car was heat soaked from the drive there. It did sit about 45 min before it went on but it also sat in the sun. Any guesses as to what my numbers would be on a non heat soaked engine and cooler day? does this sound right to anyone? I even asked the guys running the dyno and they said thats the norm.

that is pretty good. even a tad bit high perhaps.

LT's aren't good for much without supporting engine mods. now you need to get some cams and probably bumps that to the 320-330 RWHP range.

what type of dyno do they have? dynojet? mustang?

I put down 288whp on a dynojet on my car with just a Meziere electric pump and axle back exhaust. the water pump is good for between 14hp (according to brenspeed) 20 (according to kenne bell) of that power. I highly recommend that pump since it's just freeing up power that's already being made.

as far as the LT's like Tylus said, the gains if any are very small until you've done more work like FI or cams and head work.

you saw those gains from just a water pump? tuning?

I wouldn't mind the water pump delete to free up some HP. not to mention the motor will rev up quicker.

Thats pretty solid for an automatic mustang, I've heard you lose a lot of power to the rear wheels using an FR5SS tranny. What's his name is right though, if you get some more supporting mods like cams and a good dyno tune, you can expect numbers around 320-330 maybe more if your lucky...I would also definetly switch out your gears, atleast for 3.55s, the 3.31s just don't pack enough punch....bet your car sounded badass on the dyno though. I remember my first time.....It was radd

I didn't want to pay to dyno the car before adding the parts since I was going to dyno it after the supercharger so I can't overlay dyno's and see the actual gains. but I haven't seen someone dyno that high stock either so I know the mods were doing something. I also couldn't feel a difference at all after the exhaust but I definitely felt a difference after the water pump, especially after 4500rpm.

on an auto you're definitely losing more power getting to the wheels than I am with a manual, probably around 3-5%. this is my dyno on a manual with only the water pump and axle back on the stock tune. honestly if I wasn't going boost I probably could have gotten an intake and tune and easily passed 300whp with only those mods. the pump is pretty simple to install and you gain a lot for the money. I posted a write up on here somewhere, should be easy to find if you search.
