*****,
I believe the rear seat backs fold down for added trunk space. Unlatch the seat backs, fold them down and go for a spin. Sometimes the seat latches do not close completely around the striker allowing the clasp on the seat back latch to rattle on the seat striker.
Shot in the dark...can't think of anything else.....

Had a rattle in my trunk too. Turned out to be the captive nut for the Shaker 1000 amp that wasn't being used since my car has the Shaker 500. Popped that sucker off and problem fixed.

Mine had a noise coming from that area when I 1st got my car. It was the little tabs the deck lid rests against when its closed. They have a plastic pad on them. I put a little dab of grease on it and I havnt heard it since.

BINGO.
I was wondering if anyone would sugggest this.
Put some 3M tape on there with only one side of the adhesive
exposed. See if this dont fix what is annoying you.
I know it did the trick for me.
My plastic pads had slid to the side and were no longer doing their job...

We (specifically I) would do well with a picture of said plastic pad area to see if this will solve the rattle problems.

Are we talking like a creaking or soft tapping kinda noise? I hear mine coming from the back somewhere but its like chasing a dragon trying to track down that friggin noise.

Thanks!

Sorry, driving the Challenger today.
So a pic would have to wait.
Open the trunk and look by the hinge
and gas filled shock area.
There is a bent part of the hinge that
contacts the underside of the trunk
lid to help maintain the evenness of
the body panels when the trunk is closed.

I believe that's what DB's talking about...

My finger points to where the part of the hinge rests against that rubber stop on the first picture.

I doubt that it's what it is since rubber is an anti rattle.
If it dried out, that could be it however.

The last pic here, shows the spring stoppers that butt against the tail plastic panel...
It could be a rattle if the lid isn't real tight when shut.
They screw in for adjustments, so play with that if you think that it could be a rattle

Fred Malibu and I are chasing a rattle from the trunk area as well and I failed to locate it so far...
I thought it was the plastic latch cover that rattle but no.
The only thing we didn't address is the sail panel where the speakers are mounted to.
The back seats have to be removed and the quarter window trim pieces as well.
PITA for what it is...
